Sure is. I just tear it in smaller pieces and clean it up. Saute in butter with salt, pepper, and some garlic if you like.

Yesterday while I was looking for deer sign.Their was 4 or 5 other pods all in the same area.Going to try it tonight.

Haven't found a bad way to cook em. Sauteed in butter and creole seasoning with mozzarella and over some kind of meat is my preferred way

Pretty scarce around here this year, usually find 200 lbs or so each year. We pressure can quite a lot of them and they last for about 2 years. The wife likes to put them on pizza and in spaghetti, the options are endless!

I fix them like Morel mushrooms. Taste similar when fried.
