pictorial...........wild indigo - 07/28/14 09:01 PM

wild indigo prefers grassy areas, usually former prarie areas are the best to find this plant.

it grows 3-4 feet high
I prefer to dig it with a spade and gloves.........the reason for gloves is because indigo is sappy, like a milkweed and it's tough to wash off your hands.

its pretty easy to wash it.........I dry it in direct sunlight on tarps during the day, and cover it up at night to keep dew and moisture from getting to it.

Wild indigo is used for infections such as diphtheria, influenza (flu), swine flu, the common cold and other upper respiratory tract infections, lymph node infections, scarlet fever, malaria, and typhoid. It is also used for sore tonsils (tonsillitis), sore throat, swelling of the mouth and throat, fever, boils, and Crohn's disease.
