Ginseng Planting - 10/28/13 06:41 PM
I asked what I thought was a good friend on here, no answer from him, so can anyone tell me if planting ginseng under mature pines might work? seems like the perfect place, everything else is shaded out.

I dig and have dug some pretty nice seng out of pine trees over the years. I have dug seng off of old strip mine hills that had it growing on them. The seng is usully pretty heavy and around here, it might have abit of an off color to it, but it will grow under pines.
Grows much better under white pines than red pines.

Computer hater, you are 100% correct. White pine grows it much better. I find it mostly under White Pine.

These guys are correct. It grows pretty good under white pines, but does tend to get a little bit of a reddish color to it...

Hmmm, I've got blocks of mature spruce trees. Lower canopy. I guess I could try a few.
