The only red root I know of is bloodroot. The other is supposed to be a shrub of some typ. I never seen it.

the other red root your looking for may be a plant known as new jersey tea.......

I have dug this plant,,,,,,roots are identical to juniper roots...and they go down a long long way. the leaves make a a decent tea as well.............but it's getting a lil tough to find in the wild around here.
