Dry Ginseng price

Any word on the price of wild dry seng is opening at this year?

remi, my buyer has gone up to 550 per dried pound .

At this time, 600 is as much as I would pay on my typ seng.

Just talked to a guy yesterday here locally(VA) that buys and he said he was gonna start buying this weekend. He said his prices were gonna be anywhere from $650-$800/lb depending on quality. He also said he was going to be grading it this year. Not sure what that involves or how it grades, but the $800/lb sure did sound good. Maybe some guys like Don Wolf could chime in on the grading process of ginseng??

Of course, the 'seng from here in the deep hollows of the Appalachain mountains is usually worth a little more...

About the only grade I ever put on seng is if it is to small, poorly handled or not true wild seng. Other than that, I pretty much buy it on a average basis without any grade, unless you sell your big stuff to another dealer.

Jim, I got quoted 600-730 dry/lb. Richland Center was the 730.

I "HEARD" $800.00 around here today. I have personally been offered $700.00 over the phone a week ago but haven't made any calls since.

you can never tell. I look for a drop later on. Lots of seng being bought and if the market gets flooded, good bye prices.

I am at 770 and would pay more for large amts.

Just sold yesterday for $850/lb here in Virginia. It could go up but like Don said, it could go the other way. I was happy with $850 and let it go.

Dang good price for virginia seng. I would have also been happy with that price for the ginseng I dug.

The dang stuff raises every week or less. Can't keep up on the prices. Getting ready to slow way down as most of the dig is now in.

Was quoted $1000 a pound 2 days ago...like the Gold Rush! Thars Gold in them hills...lol.

im gona hold off 2 weeks I got a little over a pound dry now hope he raises the price over 1k
