Any tips for transplanting bloodroot. Can the roots be cut up like a potato? will it spead very fast if in the right environment?

I have split the root before and I think its better to keep the root whole. Seems to produce a much larger seed crop. And yes they do produce fast if in the right environment. Just remember when transplanting the root keep it close to the surface and watered/moist.

i dont recommend breaking and planting.if at the right age you should be able to find numerous small yearlings mixed in which i save out to start a bed when cleaning mature root.after that let tjhem go till they drop seeds and harvest the mature root.you should be able to keep that bed going for ever like that without ever planting anything else in there.rich humus well drained soil is very important as anything will only grow as good as the soil is.

How ever, you can cut goldenseal into smaller pieces and it does well. Cut and leave an eye on each piece.
