Best time and method to plant ginseng? - 06/30/12 05:50 PM
Ive' never found any ginseng but I always heard the right way was to plant any seed you find on plants. So is sept the best time to plant or does the seed need to stratify or be planted later?
How about ideal locations, soils and depth of planting?

yes, plant it in the fall,,,,,,in fact it's the law in many states to plant it in the immediate area directly after harvesting the plant.........which means it'd be illegal to take it home to stratify it.
plant your seng about an inch deep in the dirt, then cover with leaves.......

I actually think I get better germination when planting stratified seed in the spring when the seed is just starting to push radicals.
