I sold tons of it as a kid, haven't seen a buyer for a couple of years now.

Don it is a bark used in laxatives. we peeled the trees in spring and dried it on our roof.About ten years ago a buyer payed .25 per pound WET, I made a fortune.Have not seen a buyers sign since.

Downright too bad there's no market currently. I was going to hand the kids the pack basket and draw knives come spring. Grandparents and uncles all used to collect it.

There is still a decent market for Cascara Bark. Many companies pulverize it into powder and sell it by the lb.
