Quill vs mustard - 10/03/19 04:55 PM

I know the lure business wants the quill, but why not the mustard? What's the difference?

I like the mustard as much or more than the straight quill.

I wont buy essence without the mustard in the quill. Too many out there tincturing and cutting product these days. If there is no mustard at all in a bottle I am quite skeptical.

The mustard is a fatty substance that helps to hold and attach the essence once it has been sprayed for defense or during mating season. Never could figure why some want it removed.

I've been collecting it all summer and couldn't figure out what the difference would be but guess if that's what my buyer wants then I'll keep and use the mustard for my own lures. Thanks for clarifying this for me!

I would be interested in the mustard for trade.

Will keep this in mind. Only have a few ounces right now but usually pick up more this fall.

skunk population is down some here. not enough to get worried but definitely on a low end of the pendulum.
