Carpal Tunnel?

Just turned 21, for the past 3 years now whenever I'm skinning anything the pulling down/away with my left hand had been hurting more and more. I try to keep a loose grip to not overdo my hand, but even a small grip causes my hand to lock up right in the base of my thumb down to my wrist with a Charlie horse sensation that doesn't want to relax. Is this CT or should I get it looked at for some other defect?

Sounds more like tendonitis. You need to go to the doctor and have it checked out.

After you see a doctor, You could start taking krill oil. It helps your body heal.

Yep need to go to Dr. To young for problems like that and will only get worse. Could be job related. Martyd

If your hands don't go numb when you are sleeping it is not carpal tunnel. Also, it is usually your thumb and index finger that go numb with CT. Sounds to me like you have tendinitis not CT.

You don't need wrist braces. They give you an anti-inflammatory drug for 10 days to two weeks.

I had it done on both hands 3 years ago,I have been doing taxidermy for over 20 years and that's probably what did it.I couldn't even hang onto a can of pop or even a piece of paper without dropping it.ever since I had the surgery I have had no problems,would still be doing taxidermy if I didn't have it done,one of the best things I have ever done and wish I would have had it done a lot sooner.
