Gonna have mine fixed in a couple weeks. Doc told me at least 9 months and close to a year to be good again. I'm 40 years old and have dealt with the pain for years but enough is enough. I get it done now and be running the line next winter. At least that's my plan he said recovery is painfully do to all the muscles involved with the cuff. But also I've got spurs in joint a busted joint sack and and bone to bone rubbing in joint so hopefully your mri will show a small tear with a quick recovery time. Good luck and happy trapping.

I played football in college and semi-pro till I was 30 and, most people who didn't play the sport for a lengthy time don't know this, most football players who played into college and beyond have torn rotator cuffs or at least partial tears. I partially tore my left and spoke to several MDs about repairing it along with consulting my coaches about it and I was told that only 40% of the procedures end up being successful. They said it would be VERY easy to reinjure. I'm not trying to deter anyone from fixing their torn labrum but just wanted to put some facts out there. I never had mine fixed. It can sure flare up and put me in a hurt locker after a workout or setting my line but I just take prescription antiinflammatories and joint supplements to get me by. That's how I deal with it.

Hurt my left one playing football. Put up with it for years. It got to the point I couldn't raise my arm above my head. It was completely torn by the time I had the surgery. Wish I would have had the surgery done years sooner. Don't wimp out on the physical therapy. It hurts but in the long run it helps get the range of motion in your shoulder back. Within 6 months I was doing most anything I wanted and after a year I didn't even think about it any more. While rehabbing it I fell down the basement steps and tore the right one. LOL Once the left was fine I had the right one done. They were able to do it with arthriscopic surgery. The healing time was faster and within 3 to 4 months it was fine. Since the surgeries I haven't had any issues or pain with my shoulders.

I had right shoulder done when it got to the point of having to assist my arm over my head. I had a 90% tear and some spurs. 3 months of doing not much of anything then some (lots) of physical therapy and within 9 months it was great. Good after 6 but week. Had my left done 2 years later by same doc and I didnt listen as well cuz I thought I knew it all and set myself back a couple months but still great after a years time. That was about 2 years ago and I am 51 years old and can do a lot more now. I still climb trees for deer season and run a trap line. I do notice if I do my excersizes like they showed me in therapy I am better off and am sure it helps not reinjure. I would recomend it to anyone. I am a builder and drywaller so I use shoulders a lot.

most pain you will ever have,, due to the joint, it goes everywhere. I have had both done, one was from playing softball years ago, and from a fall 20 feet with ladder stand, landed on shoulder. The six weeks in sling is the wort having to sleep with it in a chair, take the pain pills.

Is one of the symptoms of a torn rotator cuff pain throughout your shoulder, neck and chest? I hurt something about 3 months ago and its pretty painful. I've been told to get it checked but I'm a stubborn guy when it comes to seeing a Doctor. Is the pain sort of hard to pinpoint?

Well I was stubborn also.I fell and tore my rotor cuff 1" gap tore bicep off the bone and 3 dices in my neck.I worked for 2 weeks like this.I drove a truck and had too climb up on my trl too trap and untrap my load. This wasnt fun but I thought I would get better.Well it didnt so I went too the ER.And I suggest you do the same.Being stubborn dont cure a thing. But can make things worse.
