Maternal colonies piling up for August. At least a dozen scheduled. Bat calls come in daily. Have already done 20 or so. Gonna be another busy season, right up through Halloween.

Not pursuing bat work. Trying to wean off the ladder work and keep my feet on dirt.

I have and still am doing everything except for primary entry.
Start here end of July to 14: of August, depending on spring conditions along their path

Yep Warrior, I'm totally weaned off ladder work. Keeping your feet on the ground is just fine.

Finishing up the last jobs before the rain set in for the winter.
Call volume was significantly lower this year.
The small number "6 to 8" that has hunted the corn field in from of my house, for year, was not there.

Has WNS finally made it that far west?

NY DEC was very excited to report that bay numbers were finally increasing again. Since the epicenter for WNS in the US was in the next county over it was great news!

First case was a couple years ago but not much from there.
I have only begun to look into this years decline.
My first guess would be the fires in the mountain areas and along the migration path.
Many of the old barns and building have been removed of renovated.
Pesticide from the berry growers though secondary ingestion?
In 21 years of business we have disrupted the migration of three of the largest colonies know in 2 counties (something to see when they return the next year, bats everywhere clinging to the exterior)
Many I just fixed them all....

Just when you think you fixed them all, somebody gets a new roof and opens up the dormer tie ins.

Depending on how severe your winter is over there, WNS might not do a lot of harm as they won’t be woken up during hibernation without any insects to eat.
