Shrews

Shrews - 02/14/17 03:37 AM

Sometimes I catch shrews in garage. Those buggers seem more sneaky than mice as far as finding a way in. Are they as bad as mice? Do they eat the green poison pellets like mice do?

They are carnivores. It's not likely they will go after grain based rodent bait

I have never seen anything I could blame on shrews. I've never read anything on it either. That's not saying it doesn't happen though.

I get mice in my woodshop. They like Peanut Butter.
Along with a few of these...

They can b a pain. Probly not as bad as mice though. They seem smaller. Some Ive caught hav been so small I was a bit surprised they set off a trap.

they are supposed to have a very weak poison in their bites they are meat eaters, I watched a documentary on shrews they have to eat every 24 hrs or they will die extremely high metabolism

They r welcome 2 gobble down all the green old mouse poison pellets they want, but Im not so sure they like 'em like mice do.

Shrews are primarily meat eaters much like a mole so grain base baits usually wont habe much effect

Do u consider the traditional green d-con pellets 2 b a grain based bait? I dont know, just asking. Thanks. Maybe a glu trap or traditional Victor trap r the better routes 4 eradicating shrews.
