I've found I have a higher success rate with them "upside down"
Moles tend to go under object so I kind of put them in on a angle with the trigger side lower so if they dive after encountering the claws they will hit the trigger

Same here! I'm in sandy soil and when/where the situation calls, it's the only way I'll use this trap.

Yea where I got this one they are some mounds so I put the traps down in their tunnels
