Agree, sometimes the internet price is off. They straighten it out for me. Great people to deal with.

Online shopping for such strange and bulky sized items as they carry makes it tough for the estimators
In the system to work perfect. Livng so far from them it can be expensive but as was said often the final shipping price isn't what online said when looking to place the order.

The first order I ever placed with them was a huge order when I started up and the estimator was off, way way off as they nested products within others to get them into the same boxes where it saved me money. Same anytime they can, live traps are tough, they are bulky and shippers get what they get for certain sizes. Only so much wiggle room unless a vendor has such a wide margin that they can eat the shipping cost or discount. Makes it tough with heavy or bulky sized things.

Doesn't mean I haven't choked a bit on some of the shipping costs but to be fair they do always try to do what they can.

I would just like to say "Thank you" to everyone who has chimed in on this topic. Shipping is the single , largest obstacle to be overcome by every vendor. If we were selling Books or DVD's, all the same size and relative weight, shipping would be simple. But because we handle things as light as a Mist Net, or as long as an 18 ft. net pole, or Cage Traps which are basically "Big Boxes of Air" shipping for everyone gets alot more complicated. I can honestly say we try our best to consolidate where practical and get everyone the lowest shipping rate possible. We will attempt to win your business every day. If there ever is a concern with the Web calculation, please call us for an actual quote. As many of you have seen, we adjust shipping calculations whether you call us or not. Again, thank you all for your business !!

Alan and company runs a good organization and does a great job in my experience.

Shipping bites into all of us regardless of what we buy. I have been in business for 40 plus years and I think I can speak for most dealers that I am associated with.

We all try to hold the line as best we can however, the variables in package size/configuration, weight, multiple packages to the same address, dealers have costs to pay for packing materials, boxes, someone to pack the order plus the actual shipping cost to ship the order.

Its easy to criticize until you walk in the same shoes for a little while and ship enough various packages across he U.S.. Then you can understand the complications and balancing of establishing a fair and competent shipping rate to fit most scenarios.

Shipping is always more economical then driving to pick up your order or at times you can save by making arrangements for pickups to get your materials delivered to a show or convention if that works out.

I have learned to add costs of materials and new equipment to a specific job that the items can be built into the bid of that job. Its all a write off in your business in the end.

The last few times I have ordered with WCS online they have given me a credit back because the shipping
ended up being less then the system figured it. They are a great company that I will continue to do business with.

See if they will send it truck if you are ordering a large amount. Trucking is usually around $85.00.

Always been my beef with WCS. Doesn't matter if it's a small order, seems shipping starts at $12-15 and goes up quick. Say what you will. I've had good luck with cage traps off Amazon if you are patient and you know your model #s you can avoid shipping 75% of the time.

Its just a different service. Amazon gives you convienece and price, but theres no services behind it.

Yea, but you cant complain about the cost unless you uderstand the cost of operating.

Lots of people balk at the prices to trap an animal, or bat proof a house. Tell them to look at the certs, regs, and insurance I have to carry.

No..I'm only comparing them to other companies I deal with like Macks, MTP, Tomahawk, Cumberland, Southern Snare, Cabelas, PCS etc. I can understand some parts of the country are more expensive to run a business and of course there is volume, but as a consumer I have a choice as some products are available from multiple sources. I purchase at a lower price because I need to not because I don't understand the cost of operating. Some products I still purchase from WCS and similar companies who have higher shipping charges because they have what I need when I need it.
