Low Income Housing?

They are putting up 50 or 60 homes just south of us. My daughter knows the people who sold the property and she told me that the

new project was going to be "low income housing". I drove by and the sign on the road said; "Lots starting at $139,000.00". I know

we live in a high income city but if you can afford that kind of money for a lot, you can also probably afford Advanced Wildlife &

Pest Control for your animal damage problems. We have another site going up that is overlooking Lake Michigan. They hope to put up

some houses that will be 15 to 20 thousand square feet. These are called Inheritance homes and the idea is that they will be passed

on to family members. With a house that size I would think the entire family is already living there.

How big are these lots? Are they putting the houses right on top of each other?

I can't imagine a 15-20K sq foot house.

Nowadays they are differentiating between earned income and capital gains. Maybe they are low income because they don't work and their trust funds provide all they need.

The city kind of frowns on lots of less than an acre and we have some subdivisions with 5 acre lots. We have an acre and a quarter

and that gives us plenty of room between houses. My daughter and son-in-law are building on a third of an acre about 15 minutes from

us but their last house was just about a third so they are used to it. I wonder how many raccoons, squirrels, and bats you can get

into the attic of a 20,000 square foot house?

Had my granddaughters with me on a visit to one of my customers in one of these "super-sized" homes. Older one was 4 or 5 at the time and asked "grandpa, how many families live in this house?"

For the first time in history more than half the world's population lives in cities. The reason cited for this is to find work,

education, and health insurance. I guess I must be losing touch with what's happening. I always thought the poorest, dumbest, and

most unhealthy people lived in cities. I don't recall any of my neighbors in the suburbs having to move back to the city to improve

their lot in life. Letting your children smell alfalfa, fresh cut peas, yes, and even cow manure, has always been a definite plus for me.

My kids are turning into citiots...live in the city by have to not want to...

If only my neighbors knew how many muskrats, mink, and coons i skin each night in my garage during fur season

Joshua, technically we live in a city too. The difference is we have 24,000 people living in 50 square miles. Milwaukee is right next

door. 600,000 people living in 96 square miles. When they're done building that wall for Mexico, we're next on the list. Average

household income is $45,000 in Milwaukee. It's $107,000 here. Now you know why we need the wall.

Vinke, the average household income in Washington state is higher than Wisconsin as well. We used to be higher. We just never seemed

to be able to make the switch from beer to drugs.
