Ok. First one to spray. This little one eyed fart. Its a little bugger and his left eye is missing. So as I am covering the trap (it had its head sideways and left side at me) it turns its head and is now surprised by the covering and squirt Not a lot but enough I can't smell it anymore but everyone else can
Guess I should deer hunt tonight with this natural cover scent

X2 - swear by that recipe. - dish soap is quoted as a tablespoon, but a few drops is usually enough to make it work.
(DO NOT STORE IN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER - WILL COMBUST)
And if you add some Jim Beam and 7Up it goes down a lot smoother.

I use it to wash my skunk hides before put up. Awesome stuff.

Any traps I set on the ground are covered just in case a skunk is caught. It is much easier to cover a skunk trap without a skunk in it than one with one in it.
+1!
They always try to dig out the bottom, but it still leaves the sides covered.

We do the same thing as Carl, traps are all covered at setting on the ground, even for chucks because a black and white can show up at any time. Like every animal they all have different personalities, some really fidgety others won't even look up. Covering post catch can be problematic. Remembering beaver in transfer cages years ago, some you could pet, others would hit the end of the cage hard enough to fly right out of the bed of the truck and end up nose first in the road.
Cover the traps before the skunk gets in. Pffft. You guy are no fun!

It won't combust, (catch fire) but it will build up pressure from the CO2 and bust the container if glass or at least blow the lid off if plastic.
