Vinke nailed it! I had a hard time with this, but I guess a lot of the semis on the road are a lot older. I added up our 12 vehicles
and the average was only 4 1/2.

My son-in-law's GTO is 50. I think he's responsible for bringing down the average.

My truck is an 02, paid little over 4k for it, the body will rust out before the motor will quit,236k miles.
Wife just upgraded from a 98 this year. My truck is an 04. My work truck is a '14.

Vehicles are more reliable. Ford pickups have been good for me since the 80's. Most go over 250K and beyond. My 99 Ranger has that now and still runs good. By good I mean I have no trepidation taking it a distance because it runs like it did the day I got it. I think other brands do as well -Toyota, Subaru, etc.
