Better yet...I'll give it to ya! It'll be enclosed in a package with balloon juice and Beagle brains.

(seriously, no WC license in Mo.)
Just don't
pretend to be doing WC if you're fur trapping. Get yourself a free copy of the Wildlife Code (Walmart or just about any place hunting/fishing licenses are sold).

Missouri and Wisconsin; the two states where the people are so inherently intelligent that they don't need a wildlife control license!

so you don't need an ADC license in MO to do ADC?

As Dave said, no license is required. Here's a couple of links for your reference. You can also visit the Southwest Regional Office at 2630 N. Mayfair Springfield, MO.

In Mo any land owner "OR THEIR AGENT", may take problem animals. BUT, you are not allowed to use any part of the animal, and must dispose of it as instructed by the local agent.
When doing ADC in Mo, it would be a good idea to contact the F&G agent for the county you'll be working in. This will avoid the most of the dipwad calls to the MDC for "Illegal Trapping".
While re-locating is not illegal, it's highly discouraged, because it messes with Bio-Diversity, and will allow transfer of diseases to new areas.

I noticed that you're only 14 years old so you're really not old enough to get into "the business" of ADC. However, it does give you plenty of time to research your target animal's biology and habits, equipment, trapping techniques and more in order to prepare for your eventual entry into the field of ADC. There is a wealth of information on this forum and a lot in the archives as well so it should offer you a lot of insight to various aspects of this type of work. The hardest part is getting past Dave Schmidt's and Paul Winkelmann's humor. All the best to you!

Please note that when I referred to the "business side" it was the fact of being of legal age to enter a service agreement or contract, insurance, etc., that in most, if not all, states that require you to be at least 18 years old.

I'm 13 and just started my business. I passed my exam last week and will start trapping when I get back from vacation. My best advise is to meet with a ADC trapper in your area an learn from them, I had 2 guys teach me. I wouldn't have passed the exam if it wasn't for those guys helping me. I would have not passed if they didn't help me!! Just ask lots of questions because you won't learn unless you ask, I did that and have learned lots about ADC trapping because they were nice and answered all my questions. I hope this helps

Mike Kerr brings up a good point about age. My only question is, why would you legally need a contract (service agreement) or

insurance. We have them of course, but I don't think there is any law that says we have to have them.

To address some points made above:
You need to have a written contract to make clear what you are doing for your client and for how much. If it's not in writing you will be suppressed how many people will try to take advantage of you. If you are of legal working age then you are of legal age to enter in to a service contract.

You need General Liability insurance to protect yourself and your parents if you are a minor. There is no compulsory insurance mandate by the state, but only a fool would operate anywhere without it.

Additionally I would recommend to to save your money and set up a LLC as soon as possible. This will further protect you and your family in the case of an unfortunate incident. I would suggest that you enter in the field by working for someone for a few years as this line of work is not as easy as it seems looking from the outside.

Good luck!

While I don't disagree with Mr. Lee at all, I am trying to think of the last time I had a customer sign a contract and it wasn't in

the last decade. I don't get involved in the big money jobs so that is one reason I don't carry contracts. There are two other

reasons and they are good ones. We thoroughly explain what we are going to do over the phone and we do what we say. The biggest

reason we don't get stiffed a lot is because we are working at the customer's residence. In other words, "We know where you live."
