Wildlife Services at it again - 06/18/15 02:57 AM

Stumbled onto this and thought it needed to be out for all to see. WS is not suppose to advertise but APHIS is doing it anyway. This is a mailing to stakeholders and that is direct advertising. Just need to keep it out there.

APHIS Administrator Announces Launch of New Customer Service Call Center
USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service sent this bulletin at 06/11/2015 10:30 AM EDT
Dear Stakeholders:
As part of our commitment to being a customer-focused Agency, APHIS is launching a new, toll-free number to make it easier for stakeholders like you and members of the public to locate Agency resources and information. The phone number is live now, and our program specialists can be reached at 844-820-2234 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The idea for this 800 number is based on the simple premise that you should only have to make one call to get the information you need. This is especially important at an Agency like APHIS where we have a diverse mission, and it can be challenging for stakeholders to know where to look or who to call to get the information they seek.

Some stakeholders, of course, work with APHIS on a regular basis and already know which office to contact, but for those who don’t, our goal is to provide a first point of contact and help you navigate the Agency. The program specialists taking your calls will work to answer your questions directly or connect you with the appropriate experts in our Agency. Whenever possible, we’ll also refer you to relevant resources on the APHIS Web site to make it easier to find what you need in the future.
As Federal employees, I believe we are all customer service agents working on behalf of American tax payers. APHIS provides many valuable services from protecting and promoting U.S. agricultural health to administering the Animal Welfare Act and carrying out wildlife damage management activities, but if it’s not easy for you to access these programs and services, then we’re not doing our job as well as we should.
Our goal is to provide outstanding customer service, and we hope this new 800 number becomes a helpful resource for all of our many stakeholders. If you use the line in the coming days, weeks or months and would like to share your feedback, please contact Hallie Zimmers, APHIS’ National Stakeholder Liaison, at 202-799-7029 or by email at hallie.zimmers@aphis.usda.gov.

Sincerely,

Kevin Shea

Don and the rest of you; I'm not big on politics but maybe Rand Paul has the right idea. A flat federal tax of 14.5 percent would cut

a lot of excessive government revenue and then perhaps we could wave bye-bye to programs that can be done by private companies and

individuals like Wildlife Services.

Gotta wonder what they charge for their services? For example Summer time coyote work?

They do mostly beaver work here for DOT's plugged culverts, etc.

They charge by the mile and # of days.

I used to ride with 1 and he'd bid 6 days/7 trips for $882 or sum such goofy amount. He had to call Raleigh and tell them -- 45 miles from his door for 6 days --- the ofc folks give him the goofy amt. He has no clue what the formula is.

I'd then underbid by $50-$100 and get the job...at times.

UNLESS BMAP dollars were involved, then it was a flat $25/trip for him and I didnt stand a chance. Many counties did not contribute to the BMAP program and thats when I stood a good chance at the job.

What is it going to cost in added welfare? Some government workers aren't employable any were else.

Okie, if they are any good at all, they could still work in the same field. ( Although I once worked for the Federal Government in

the form of a U.S. Army soldier and that was about as useless as I have ever been )

I never thought of it that way, of adding to the welfare state.... Hmmm. Well maybe the welfare ranchers that WS works for will go out of business to. Then what? I guess we, the tax payers, will have to support them. Or we could ship them to China.

Check out this link for advertising in NV.

I get the picture already. The government is saving tens of thousands of dollars worth of livestock by spending hundreds of thousands

of dollars on planes, pilots, trappers, office workers, etc. etc. And I thought welfare was a dumb idea.

You got it Paul. Thanks for making that more clear than I did.
