Deck exclusion

Hello All,

I have been trying to do more exclusion work. A client wants me to give him a quote for excluding his deck from skunks.
The deck is loaded with tree roots and rocks. How the heck am I going to dig 18 inches in this? Can the deck be excluded?

Can you dig Down 4-6 inches? Then go out
18 inches. If your limited to depth you could offer to
Put down river rock/ landscape stone. Just come out
24 inches instead and don't forget to charge enough

Why do you need to go down 18"? So the animals can dig 18" before they hit screen? 3-4" is plenty. Use the roots to screw the screen to.
