Hello All,

I found these nuts in an attic. What caused this?

Thanks

I'll be waiting to read answers as well. Every so often we find them stored in the bait boxes.

If it was over here, it would more than likely be Field mouse, they fill the little bait boxes with all sorts of things including nuts, bolts, screws, stones, bits of wood, you open them up and it looks like a hardwear store.

I do believe that would be field mice. They pack that same stuff in my tool bags in barn

Well now I really feel bad. I'm supposed to be getting rid of them, not providing them with a place to store their goodies!

My guess: flying squirrels. I trapped 7 out of my mother's attic 20 years ago.

I set traps for flyers, and all I caught were mice. However, the vent screen has a circular hole like a flyer made the hole.

Deer mice would be my guess. I wonder why they don't like peanuts....

Woodpeckers/Blue Jay's, but not in attics.
