Am I Nuts Or Is Everybody Else?

Am I Nuts Or Is Everybody Else? - 04/23/15 01:33 PM

Somebody in our company instituted a operation that I can't even believe. They remove the chewed on mouse bait and replace it with

new blocks or packets. Why? The Contrac Blox or Final Blox or soft bait packets are just as deadly to rodents on the last bite as

they are on the first. Right? Why would you do anything but add bait to the bait box if the supply was getting low? I think that

taking partially eaten poison out of a bait box would be just like taking unused gas out of your gas tank. Am I wrong?

Some people don't like leftovers. How do you know mice aren't the same way?

A reasonable question Mr. Jansma. Since I'm the guy that has to recondition any used bait boxes, I'm also the guy that gets stuck

with all the old bait. I use all of this pre-used bait on my customers and it actually works better than brand new blocks. Unlike

most humans, rodents prefer leftovers. I am not making this up. Big Bob's question is reasonable as well, but my psychiatrist

charges me extra if I go into detail.

Sounds like a company meeting is in order, to stop wasting bait.

I can see where swapping out for fresh bait can be a service. Too many trips where no new bait is added might lead some clients to the conclusion they don't have a rodent issue that needs control anymore.

Trapjohn is right on the money. And all of the new bait boxes have the bait bars pointed straight up, so all you need to do is drop a

new block on top of the old one. Not exactly rocket science, is it? And if the customer is watching over your shoulder, of course you

can swap it out. The idea is to eliminate rodents from around the premises and you can do that with old, used bait too. Just to test

my own theory, I put two baited mouse traps just inside our garage door. ( We have had a vole problem in the past and have bait

stations around our outside perimeter too ) Those mouse traps have gone untouched for over two months now so I guess it's working. My

wife is the perfect example of a customer. She once threw a wounded raccoon in her car's trunk but if it would have been a wounded

mouse, it would still be lying on the side of the road. Most women have the same phobia. Our home is a testing ground. If I can

keep my wife happy about our rodent situation, I can keep all the customers content too!
