Changing Careers, have some training?

Changing Careers, have some training? - 02/20/15 04:26 PM

After 21 years I'm in the process of hanging up my boots and taking off the uniform to begin a new career. I have more than ample college education, a Bachelors in Biology and a Masters in environmental management however I've found that the vast majority of jobs that interest me look favorably on certification in chemical immobilization, M-44 devices ect. Not exactly the kind of training you get as a Combat Engineer or in college. How does somebody go about getting this training? Is it regional? State? Federal? Web searches have only added to the confusion. Any assistance or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Most training will be through private individuals and companies.

Don't let Vinke kid you. The government does a very thorough job of training. Take the Army for example. I was supposed to be trained

as a Clerk/Typist. You can't imagine how happy my home unit was to get me back....a very thoroughly trained Combat Engineer. We could

build a bridge in a day. ( And blow it up the very next day )
