Yes, Mark Dotson's outfit. Ask this one over on the ADC forum we have a few members who are franchisees.
Also do a search of the ADC archives there might be some discussions of franchising there.

As i understand it, mr dotson is no longer the owner

If the franchise has been sold, like Joshua says, I would contact some of the franchise owners in other states. I've met Mark Dotson

on a couple of occasions and enjoyed talking to him. If a new owner has taken over, a few candid comments from some franchisees would

probably be well worth your effort.

Per a brief PM from the new owner:

Mike,

I saw your post...and Eric is spot on about things. I am the new owner of AAAC and we're hard at work making our company better than ever. There have been some changes in things but nothing over the top. If there is ever any questions about us or any thing we can help you with just call.

Brian Moss
AAAC CEO

Perhaps you should go straight to the source and give him a call if you are truly interested.

I would call franchises instead of the Marketer...

Vinke, with two great minds like yours and mine, how come we ain't rich?

Oh, that's right. We are!!

Re: Anyone ever hear of them? - 08/03/14 09:37 PM

Mortamie, by now both you and your bride have got to know from the Internet that AAAC is now owned by Brian Moss from Houston, Texas.

The same Brian Moss that has an Anytime Wildlife franchise in the same area? I cannot answer that question.

For all I know, he may also own the Critter Control franchise for Houston. I don't know that either.

But if I were you, I would certainly find out!

What I can tell you is that starting out on your own was not easy for us. It was mostly my wife on the phone and me in the field.

Would I have joined a franchise if I could do it over again? No way. We are probably bigger than any franchise in our state. We

love the fact that we have seven family members working with us. ( And the two, three, four, and six year olds, can't wait to start!

Thanks for the advice Paul.. I will weigh and consider in great lengths what you have said. I was thinking that maybe by getting into the franchise the rich folk in my area would be more apt to use the service.. I know that there is supposed to be one of the AAAC companies in Boise Idaho and so I thought maybe it was a good idea.. right now I am fairly new to trapping in general and was not sure if I could start up my own ADC business without a little more training.. I do understand where you are coming form though sir. I will definitely know more after thinking on it and talking with my business professors at college.. Thanks again to all who have given info on this..

Mortamie, I loved the sentence about asking your college professors. I'm sure by now that most of the ADC world knows how big I am on

college education. I never went myself but there is still time. I just don't know if they would let me start at the PHD level?

Piled Higher and Deeper ?

Sounds like he's already in college Paul.

Didn't you warn him before starting?

I earned a Biology degree and ended up being a machinist and welder then a QC Manager most of my life...used the biology degree 1 year when I worked at our zoo.

trapjohn, that is a good one. I have a son-in-law who drove an eighteen wheeler right after he got his college degree and now he's a

maintainance mechanic. My daughter has a biology degree and she works for us, so when we say we have a biologist on staff, we ain't

lying.

a franchise won't get you the richer paying clients...they will get some just like any other business but the people that "are richer" really are usually self made and understand that hiring the little guy is beneficial as well

Joshua, the insight of that post just blows me away. We have customers that people would kill for and you just explained why in a sentence.

Mortamie,

Take what your Business Professors tell you with eyes wide open. While in college, I learned that most of my professors had never set foot outside of the academic world. They started college at 18, grad school at 22, taught at the college for a couple years then started on their PHD. When they got their Phd they got a job at a university.

They could spout theory all day long but when you asked for real world examples that they had experienced themselves, most (not all) came up pretty short.

Now Dirk that's not nice.

It's not just college profs either. Many times I felt that I knew enough about a subject to talk about it and yet when I finally got

physically involved, it was nothing at all like I thought it would be. Women and marriage are two good examples.
