Hey David,

I just looked and was surprised to see he has legal public options now, just a few years ago I remember it was still govt or military or police only.

Still some sticker shock though! smile

Wouldn't imagine other folks make a public avail option...

Yes? No?

Justin, with active combat winding down I would imagine the manufacturers are pushing to get their product released for civilian purchase.

That's a powerful point and a positive one for folks coming home!

Can't afford any and don't really "need" one but enjoyed working with them
when I was a fed.

I really apologize for my late input on this topic but unless you are willing to pay for the price of a new car, forget thermal imaging. It's one of our biggest disappointments. I had one of the more expensive ones show me exactly how many raccoons, and exactly where they were, by a guy whose son sold the things to industry.

Naturally, I got all excited and haven't bought anything like it since. As far as using them in our business, these gizmos truly suck.

On the plus side, that's exactly what one of their salesmen told me when I told him what we needed it for!

Paul thanks for your input . What kind did you use and what fault did you find in it?

I'll let you know as soon as ours gets back. Apparently my son-in-law is trying to use it to locate baby raccoons, which he won't find because of insulation.
