Okay, I nailed Justin on the last question, but I didn't give him any hints. This time I'll give one; it's not a great state for our particular business. ( But I love it just the same )

Has to be either North Dakota or Montana, more bars per capita then any other state. Wisconsin comes in fifth. Do I win one of those free Tomahawks you got in the WCT article?

The only person that I know of that got a free tomahawk was General George Armstrong Custer. Besides which, neither one of those answers is correct. ( If you will look carefully at the statistics, the year all the bars closed and all the beer manufacturers went out of business, coincided perfectly with the year I stopped drinking beer. ) (1980)

Special note: I said I quit drinking beer; Whiskey sales are way up!

You must be doing way better than me. I have Kesslers or Old Thompson because they're about half the price. ( But I'll savor the Jim Beam )

Pa.is my choice as our active work season is about 9 months here. We get some work thru the winter but I am off trapping anyway so it works out well for me. What work we do get with birds in the stores, squirrels and rodents is handled by my employees so that works out nicely.

I'm pretty sure RI is the worst in the rankings. I may be wrong but we are definitely in the bottom five.

I knew we were fighting an uphill battle here.....

The worst states for small businesses:

1. New York: The third-worst personal income tax, the ninth-worst sales tax and the very worst property tax
2. California: The second-worst sales tax and the third-worst personal income tax
3. New Jersey: The third-worst property tax and fifth-worst personal income tax
4. Connecticut: The second-worst property tax and, with the enactment of its "millionaire's tax," the third-worst personal income tax
5. Ohio: The fifth-worst property tax and the sixth-worst income tax

As hard as I/we work we all deserve the best, Jim Beam, portehouse steaks, prime rib and shrimp cocktails with an occasional lobster tail.

Dave, I have a special place in my heart ( and stomach ) for Alaskan king crab legs. The first time I had them was fresh from the waters of Alaska.

P.S. It's not Michigan, Wisconsin, or Minnesota, either. So we're down to 35.
