Probably not but your lawyer will. Expect some not so nice responses.

License? What you will need is an armed bodyguard. No one crazier than "cat people", especially those who are involved with the ridiculous notion that TNR is somehow "good." If I put an ad in my area about cat control, my house would be fire-bombed. If you think I'm kidding, go ahead and run the ad.

There are many laws regarding feral cat control, and these laws vary by state, county, and municipality. Check out the legality before you get too far, or you could be asking for serious trouble. I'm actually trying to help!

As much as feral cat control needs to be done, it's still a tricky job most of the time.

Every animal group in the State will be on you like flies on $*^%. The best thing you have done today is post on this forum to get some advice. I hope you are flexalbe, because if you post an add in the paper about trapping cat you can kiss your [Please excuse my language... I'm an idiot] good-by. JMO.

That's why all the politicians won't touch the issue either. They're scared of the fallout from the anti's.

I say go for it. Use a google voice number though, don't put your real number or address. On cat jobs I do not leave my traps, I wait while the traps are working. You should contract through the Fcc, kidding those people are nuts.

What Ron said. Never take a cat job unseen.

While Missouri and Illinois seem to be crawling with lunatics, some of us live in states where only the normal few are mentally challenged.

Cooner,
I admire your courage as the tnr and other extremist are headaches but somebody needs to help the wildlife population.
Heed all of the advice given here. I would also print out copies of the wildlife societie position on feral cats, indoor cats web site, the audubon society position, buy Steven VanTassels book on feral cat control. Use all of these resources to make yourself some talking points and or press release. You will be on the news as a hero to some and a villain to others. Those resources will give credibility to your position. I would also make copies to handout so the paper or news will hopfully report these other positions on this controversial subject.
I do some but turn down most. I am thinking about raising the price of the ones I've been turning down to where it would be worth it. Recently I did that and was going to do a colony. When the customer did a smart thing and contacted the cat group that started the cat colony. They would not help him but he told them he had hired me to deal with the colony and they trapped them and moved them somewhere. Probably on some other sob.
One of my favorite lines to use on these people is if tnr worked we should have used it on Ted Bundy.
Other than being a serial killer he had a lot of good qualities and education.
Ted didn't kill for sex and neither does the feral cat.
I sw a clip where people put cameras on their cat to see what it did all day. They got a good laugh out of the killing of wildlife. He's such a little rascal.

If we catch a cat where we are, we have to take them to Animal Services. They require the address of removal and they spay or neuter the animal. They hold it to see if someone claims and then dump right back on the property you removed them from. Have fun explaining that to the customer!

Florida makes Illinois and Missouri seem like Rhodes Scholars in comparison. Does anyone consult your Department of Natural Resources before coming up with all the hair-brained laws. Feral cats are way more dangerous to your state than the pythons. ( And pythons probably eat feral cats so they're on our side )

I just did one. Easy peesy. People thought it was a coon. Got to rip up the delapidated deck too. Animal control girls know me by now.

I remember years ago a local sportsman’s club paid their members a reward (bounty) for feral house cat tails. They were considered what we now call a deleterious species. But don't try calling a feral cat that nowadays. In most states you'd probably be charged with felonious animal cruelty for doing what used to be considered a civic duty.
