c.walker, I'll bet you're glad the spelling business wasn't part of the test. Glad you made it.

Between my typing skill, spelling, train of thought running off track I can be in the same boat
as some on this forum when it comes to posting.

I struggle with spelling "c" so I always use spellchecker. I've worked with guys who couldn't spell a lick
but were great trappers, troubleshooters etc...for wildlife. However, when written communication is part
of your business which it will be at some point, you want to be sure you use spellcheck or have someone
check it over.

Some people won't care and they will hire you anyway, others will look at the spelling issues or grammar
issues and decide paying you what you are asking is too much and move on.

Spelling has become an issue on this forum more than once, even though Paul is poking you, it is honestly
for a good reason. Don't take offense, just realize you will be more professional and taken more professionally
even on this forum but for sure in business if you correct these issues.

Now me, my one big one and my wife will agree is that I like to make run on sentences, apparently in the school
I grew up in you just throw a comma in wherever you'd like to take a breath and just keep on rolling, that way
eventually you will say everything you need and you only need one (period).

smile

Again, take it with a grain of salt but realize you will sell more and make more and be taken more seriously by
adjusting fire on this.

What Justin said. Your spelling and diction will be a factor when you're bidding on a five-figure job with a huge corporation.
As with resumes - the ones with spelling/grammar mistakes go right into the trash can.

yoteguts i appreciate that. as fare as the spelling thing goes i am the vp of a demolition and tree service incorporation. and always make shure everything is correct before entering bid sheets and paper work. that is why i do have a secretary. and with my adc work i will be haveing my wife do the paper work as she is obsesive conpulsive about proper grammar. i also have a problem with letting my sentences run and not capitalising things. i dont have great computer skills and dont even know how to use spell check. lol. i am a red neck that just dresses the part when i go out on buisiness. lol thanks for all the advice.

I first started doing ADC work back in the late 80s, I really enjoyed it but being active duty in the USAF brought that to a screeching halt. I retired from active duty and I'm just now starting to ease back into it. Took my CWPC test in September, passed it with a 95% and received my permit in late November. I've been busy with fur trapping since then of course and I will be using my fur money to fund my ADC work in the near future. It seems like the ADC has grown in leaps and bounds and is way more complicated since when I started. That's ok, change is a part of life and technology has really changed the business end of things. I look forward to growing and changing with everybody else and if I can help somebody along the way, I sure will try.

c walker, if your "obsesive conplusive" wife, reads your post, you're a dead man.
