Adc network - 01/02/13 12:29 AM

Has anyone noticed that you can read these threads without being logged in as a user? However, the ADC network threads can not be read, unless you are logged into the forum.

Does anyone see the downside?

Re: Adc network - 01/02/13 01:13 AM

I brought it up a while ago and LT didn't even believe me.

How can you expect someone to join when they can't even access the site to see if it's something they want to join?

I guess he has enough members.

True.

However, what is the disadvantage for tman?

Its a catch 22 for every site such as this and ADC-N. You can make arguments both ways. The Register people side, if people want to see it bad enough, they can join, if they are too lazy to not join then they probably shouldnt have the info anyways. The No Register side, you lure people in to join by letting you see certain, if not all, sections of the forum.

One could post links to tman threads on other sites with a different audience.

Re: Adc network - 01/03/13 02:14 AM

My advice to paul, change name on trapperman to anything other than ballerina.

Re: Adc network - 01/03/13 02:18 AM

And dont post links on the ballroom dancing forum.

Re: Adc network - 01/03/13 04:00 AM

You guys may not be aware but one of the absolute worst liberals in the D.C. area is also named Paul Winkelmann. I'd rather be known as a ballerina.

More than enough members ?
Hardly !
laugh

As founder and co-owner of The ADC Network, I can tell you that members concerns are indeed, my concern !
I care about what people think and am always striving to find ways to improve and add to the site.
That said, contribution from members, just like on here, is critical, for without that, what would anyone have to read ?
Or learn from? Or share ?
I can't read anyones mind...but, I can read !
I can listen.
I do have a phone...and a PM box.
(Is your message in there?)
If there's a problem getting on my site, it should be addressed to me.
I can tell though, there certainly doesn't appear to be.
Dandj animal control from Maine, contacted me on facebook, went directly to my site, signed up and posted things within minutes.
Why would I think it should be any harder for anyone else ?
Now true, you can't read what members write UNLESS you are a member.
Too many times people, and I mean the WRONG people, pry into what we do.
I want to keep that from happening as much as possible.
Still, I invite trappers to join. My site is NOT a fur trappers site.
It is for working professionals...or people who express in doing so.
We have trappers from across the globe, which networking trappers was always my intention.
I don't censor people either...
except for the guy who says "I don't seem to care."
Yeah, he needs to be quiet, because that simply is not true !

LT - It would be nice to get more discussion going.

If we google Paul Winkelmann ballerina, it is number 2. The nice part about ADC Network....this isn't a concern.

Well, listen, it's Monday 7:10 pm EST and I'm on here...
What's on your mind ?

Re: Adc network - 01/08/13 01:29 AM

Actually, I posted about the situation and you replied.

http://adcnetwork.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ot&action=display&thread=1221

"Now true, you can't read what members write UNLESS you are a member."

How would someone know if the site is one they would like to join if they can't access it? Seeing a page that says "Error: you must log in to access this forum" is not what I'd call accessing the site.

Re: Adc network - 01/08/13 01:56 AM

Yes, and I stand behind my decision to not give all OUR valuable information to just anyone, for FREE !

Why should we ?

Why should I, or you, or anyone who has worked hard and pay their dues, give all their hard earned information to just anyone...for nothing ?

Now if you're a member, and you contribute, I learn from you, and you learn,(hopefully) from me as we share ideas, methods and other valuable information.

Should be share this with anyone ? What if they are our customers ?
We'll be out of a job...
Do we want to give our secrets to the public ?

Nah, I get payed $2,500.00 to train people at a professional level...

Tell you another thing, members who sign up and never show back up, I'll soon erase them...

Re: Adc network - 01/14/13 05:01 PM

Whaaaaaaaaa! Bunch of want it now, don't want to work for anything, just hand me the info, kind of people would have a problem with taking 2.5 minutes out of there life to make a proboards account so they can read the posts! Helll it took longer to make this post then it would have took to join the site! JOKER!! lmao!

Re: Adc network - 01/14/13 09:14 PM

Forrest, great post! I was not aware that people under that age of 65 have the same problem as I do. I never had everything instantly when I was a kid, but I sure expect it now. It is truly amazing how the entire world has geared for instant gratification.

Re: Adc network - 01/16/13 03:36 AM

Anybody on here could just call me if they wanted to...
How many people on here can say called them and spent as much time as was needed to answer every problem they had...or just wanted to say hello...
Not every site owner does that...
