w.a davidson.com from florida
&
Academy fence supply from New Jersey. Both companies sell good vinyl coated wire and GAW wire.

We use 1" x 1" 16ga. GAW vinyl coated wire for exclusion for hogs and skunks.
$20.00 a linear foot is about our going rate for most jobs. Some jobs a bit more if we rent a digging machine of sorts.

Not sure if you have ever test the coated wire , some of it will rust out very fast when it's under ground . I learned that the hard way . Back in my pheasant farming days .

Okay Pesky, tell us a little about the pheasant farm. For release, for resturants, a lttle of each, what? Did you eat all of the product? How did you keep out all the vermin, especially the flying kind. LT told us a little about his fox farm, now it's your turn.

It all started just having afew to around to train my dogs . Then it went other guys needed birds to train . Then I was stocking fields and guided hunts . Then started selling eggs . I then found more money in selling eggs on eggbid and eBay . Started raising more birds . Quail , partridge , rare breeds of pheasants ,quail . Some breeds of pheasants where going at auction for1.400 apair or 160.00 bucks per egg . Ruffed grouse my budy raised them . I would by 30 pair from him for 250.00 per pair and then run a action and get 600.00 per pair . Got in to forced laying that's hanging lights starting feb . Like you pair of a pair of hungarian partridge well local you can only get 2 bucks a egg well at auction on the net you might get 8 or 10 bucks per eggs and then you just mail the eggs . I got some wild blood French red legged partridge from England and made a killing selling there eggs . Quail are good to ,like mountain quail I could get 300.00 a pair or 10 to 20 bucks a egg . As long as you keep taking there eggs they just keep laying . A good pair of mountain quail might lay 40 or more eggs . All your desert quail are good to . Valleye quail or gamble or blue scale are all great layers and great to hunt to because they fly like jets . I had all different colored bobwhite quail ,white, red, speckled, smoky ect all great for selling pairs or eggs . Also would go to the local bird sales and by up all there more rare breeds and turn 2 k to 6 k because these older breeders would not sell at auction on the net . Then you just over night mail the birds . It got where I had 30 breeds of pheasants , 20 breeds of quail , 6 partridge ect . Lots of hard work caring for them , can't really go anywhere for very long . I did this for 12 years part time and then it went full time . I think the bottom has fallen out of it now . Just raising reg ring necked pheasant is hard to compeat with the big breeders in Ohio . I ran electric wire around all the pens and that would keep the critters out . Had nets over the flight pens , the hawks and owls tried but ran into that hot wire . If I raised birds again I would just keep it basic and simple . One more thing the fence on the flight pens just layed on the ground as a apron . Never had a problem . No need to trench it

Pesky, glad I asked. That was one of your best posts. I learned something about you as well as about game birds. Thanks.
