Restoring Cleaned Traps - 09/14/20 03:11 PM

I picked up a few traps that had been cleaned by dipping in vinegar. Now the traps are grey. Any ideas as to restoring them to a more desirable look?

If the intent is to display them you can try soaking them in oil / WD-40 for a couple of days and you might get rid of some of the grey. You may have to set them out to get a light coat of rust back on them to eventually get back to some patina. Hopefully they weren't pricey collector traps - not a good technique for them. If their users, just rust them and throw in the dye pot.

Brush with salt water until rust appears. then just oil.
