110 i.d. help - 07/25/20 03:33 PM

Just bought a few 110s, found this unusual-looking one in the box. Dog is funny to me, and there is an attachment bracket (?) on one side. Any idea what the make /model is. [Linked Image]

Montgomery Stake n Take.

The bracket thing was to be bent perpendicular to the trap and a 12 inch thin rod inserted through the holes to act as a stake. The rod came with the trap.

Collector value of no more than $5.00. In My Opinion.

If you look at the top of the bracket holding the trigger wire, it should be stamped MTI. Montgomery Traps Inc.

Thanks! Just found it very unusual. It'll be used to catch rats this fall, not really interested in collecting or selling.

The dog is one of the worst parts of this trap. Since you are using the trap to trap fur, you might consider replacing the dog with a different, more conventional style.

Okay, thanks for the tip. I'm ordering a bunch of other parts soon, will add a new dog to the list.

Didnt those traps come with a rod that went through the brackets on the pivot side to keep them in place. I have a few of these but misplaced the rod.

Yup. The rod was about 12 inches long. It was designed as a stake. Thus the name of the trap. 12 inches isn’t much of a stake. IMO
