I have a 2 Newhouse stamped upside down . Is there a lot of this ? And there is extra metal under the jaws on several , would that be left over from casting ?

I am not sure exactly what you mean by stamped upside down? I have a #2 that just the "No2" is upside down from the rest of the pan stamping but that is not common. If it is a riveted pan model the pan may have been put on upside down so that the stamping is on the underside, still not common but it happened. Would like to see a photo. Yes, the extra metal under the jaws is from the casting.
