I am not sure that there was a slick pan #1 1/2. The jaw post on this trap is not early enough for a slick pan anyway, the corners are square and they should be rounded. The ring on the chain is not original, it is welded, and there should be 11 links in the chain not 10.

Also, the seller is selling three different Slick Pans, all with the same type chain, yet the so-called "Slick Pan" in the link that I posted, has a chain that is an altogether different type chain? Maybe because it's a larger trap? Fake?

You don't have to answer me, Mink. Just thinking out loud, again.

No.4, That trap is not fake, but it is not a Newhouse. I think it is a Stow.

The #4 sized trap No 4 liked is/was also a curious one. Chain is not Newhouse, springs were not stamped and not good enough pics to really examine the jaws and posts to make a guess as to likely manufacturer. L O M--the 1 1/2 looks to me that it is made up of parts, the spring looks real nice.

Cohunt, Did you see my post above yours? I was talking about the #4, I think it is a hand forged "Stow" trap. It is not a Newhouse. If you look at the bottom spring eyes, there is a little nub that sticks out. That is a trait of a Stow trap.

Thanks snakecollector, I thought your post was about a small handforged, not the #4 sized one.

Thanks, Snakecollector. The manufacturer, Stow, is a new one to me.
