what is the difference between a vic 3 and a 3N? cast jaws or what?

Cast jaws, heavy cast swivel and kinkless chain. There is also a #4N, neither are marked "N" on the pan, just #3 or #4.

X2. Also the cast jaws on the 3 N are very slightly offset.

And the jaw ends are turned up after passing through the jaw posts making it very difficult for critters to pop the jaws out. Also makes changing jaws out difficult at best.

Many of the 3Ns have various govt. stamps and have the dog-knot
stake attached. Good collectables.

I have one US stamped victor 3n all complete with dog knot stake. Its hanging on my wall next to my us stamped newhouse #4. I have just been looking at a few pics of some cast jaw vic #3s and was wondering what the difference was, thanks guys for the info.
