Old Body Grip of some kind?

My Uncle brought a body grip over that he has found. Not sure how you set it, or if parts are missing?
No idea what its make or model is?

called a stop thief trap. I have never tried to set one though.

And the trigger wire is missing. Some are stamped on the bottom part.
