WHAT IS IT ????

This was in a passed trap collectors things. I have almost threw it in the scrap pile several times but keep thinking it may be something worth saving. Any information would be much appreciated.

Page 12 has a sketch of a self-locking snare prototype developed by John Kleffman of Hibbing,MN. They look very similar.

Kevin, Thanks for the info and the pic. It took a little doing but I figured out how to get the picture from my e-mail to here.
This must be what it is as the old trapper (collector) that passed most likely knew John Kleffman.
