I know that John Watkins made double long springs in this dogless concept.They had a single tab on one jaw that would hook to the pan.

Pan and base are modern,Jaws and spring were taken from parts trap.Trap was made up 6 or 7 years ago.Trap has since rusted up over time.Marked on base as Replica. I also made the chain from round stock.John Watkins came to USA from England around 1830-40 era.First started to make Gin style traps Boston Mass,later started making many double long springs for beaver trappers ect. then moved to Roxbury Mass later he moved to Bridgeport Conn.
