Warrented pan traps - 01/22/15 01:55 PM

I was hoping someone on here could give me some background and general value on some traps I recently found in a lot of traps I purchased. These traps are #3 victor longsprings with cast jaws and the square rivet on the cross piece. The pan reads VICTOR across the top with 3 below it then the "v" cut-out. Below this is the word "warrented" and below that is Onieda Community,N.Y. USA. I'm unable to take/post pictures at this time, which I know would probably help, sorry. Gary.

Hi Gary, In 1910 Oneida Community was advertising that their Victor traps were guarantied and started stamping the pans "warranted". These traps do have some additional collector value but condition is important as with most collector traps.

Thank you, Snakecollector. These traps have clear readable pans, correct chains and swivel but deformed rings. Nice dark brown patina and have not been damaged by "cleaning". Hopefully I can get a picture to post.

If I remember correctly, they had a bad run of springs
that broke out in the field. For awhile, in an effort to
regain trust, they were stamped "WARRANTED". Always check
for that stamp.
