NEVER BREAK TRAP - 12/07/14 10:12 PM

I have an old trap that says "Never Break" on the pan

It's an old coil about a 1 or 1 1/2 size but says "no. 2 " on the pan

Anyone ever heard of it or have info. on it ?

All info. is appreciated

That pinched pan connection denotes Triumph. The #1 Never Break
only has one spring and lever. I was trying to slightly bend my
first #1 Never Break back to shape and broke it. That's real
nice little inexpensive, interesting trap.

Never Break coil spring traps, made by Triumph Trap Company from 1921 to 1927.

Came in 2 sizes - 1 which was a single coil and # 2 which was a double coil. The # 2 looks small than what most people think of a # 2 being. Since your trap is a double spring, I am pretty sure the pan is original.

The pan stamping is nice and clear, but it looks as though the pan has been artificially cleaned to bare metal.

If the pan has been cleaned, the trap has a retail value of about $12.50. If the original patina is all there, value would jump up to about $17.50

A nice older trap in pretty good shape for it's age.
