Prott Trap Company - 10/24/14 04:36 AM

I picked up one of the neatest traps in my collection at this years Nebraska convention. I for some reason forgot the size but I am wanting to say it way a #1 1/4. Have to check when I go home for the weekend. What different sizes did they make and what does a good condition one go for? My pan is 100% readable.

Most of the Protts are 1 1/4. There are a few 1 1/2.

Made in Wisconsin from 1947 to 1951. There are 3 pan stampings. Madison, Lodi and Racine.

Madison is the most common stamping. In really nice condition, trap is worth in the $30.00 to $35.00 range.

It is a fairly common trap in pockets of Wisconsin.

The Prott is basically a long spring jump trap. It has a paddle on the bottom that pushes the trap up when sprung.
