The wedge is a factory accessory item that Newhouse offered for a short period.

Dumb Q but what was the wedge for wouldn't think it would hold much as a stake

No it would not hold much, and that is apparently why it only lasted for a short period of time as an accessory item. I have seen several of these that were broken.

Still really cool though.
