just picked up this near mint B&L #2 that is from the E J Daily collection at the oswegos trappers collection last weekend

this is my Charley Dobbins, johnny Thorp, Pete and Ron Legget, and Phil Brown trap, since the pic I got a Kattze used trap also. just some dust collectors I think are neat.

Those traps with the tags are really nice. I would
bet each of those traps held plenty fur.

Had a "NEW TO THE GAME COLLECTOR" ask to buy one of my tagged user traps and I felt kind of famous for a minute.

the Pete and Ron Legget trap sports both their tags because they trap together and use the same traps. what I did was order me and my sons tag Joe and Tim Mott, so were both covered. anyone else collect modern collectable taps also? I wouldn't have my Charley trap if it wasent for Paul.

heres a couple more a rags made trap

a trap a guy from here was nice enough to send me with the story behind it, in the story it says it haddent been set since 1957 the year I was born

Here's one with a trappers mark in unique place. Think I read somewhere this guy
Donnie Bush wrote a book on Newhouse Traps. I'd love to find a copy. Guy I got
this trap said the 31 1/2 was his favorite mink trap to use.

Just noticed the pan has same name stamp. Funny, missed that for years
I got this from NTCA magazine. Maybe from one of you guys.

I've never done anything to that trap except wipe the dust off. It does seem like
There is a thin coat of clear something. Like thinned floor wax. (Full metal jacket)
I've had it many years tho. Way before FMJ

Reiny,

I was checking over the old posts on the Trappermans Trap Collecting forum and noticed your post questioning Donnie Bush NEWHOUSE book.

Yes, it was a typed/mimeographed 8 1/2" X 11" booklet on the Newhouse Bear Traps. Had pictures but pictures were not real clear. Now this was the copy I had... Mine could have been a copy of a copy, but I believe this was a "self-published" manuscript. Pretty generic info on Newhouse traps.. This was back in the 70's.

The new hard bound Newhouse book on all their bear trap just sold this weekend for $195.00 on an auction site. Seems anything about bear traps goes for big bucks. If I remember correctly, a B&'L bear trap sold at an auction for major money, $$,&&&.$$! Read about it on this site.

I have traps from Rick Olson, Jason Dufresne, Andy Weiser, Jim Spencer, Josh Weiks, Doug66 and a few others I know 😁. Also have a couple from a Virginia USDA trapper. I find myself looking for traps that are either used by or modified by guys I know.

Got a few left to get too.
