Found this a few years back,

In an old dump site. Been hanging on the wall ever since. Oddly enough the spring is super strong for an old bugger. All I can read on the pan is No 1. thanks

Talk about a rich PATINA! I would say its a pat date Newhouse or maybe a Hawley Norton. And I'll bet you put the chain on it. Will probably still outperform a new trap.

Digger, yep, I added an old chain that had no home at the time as the trap didn't have one. Looked better hangin on the wall with it. Thanks for the info,

Ok some one on here might answer my what is that little tab of metal on the Trap ring for?

It's a nail, to secure it to a log or whatever you can hammer it into.
