First Beaver Run Set

After hitting my first beaver with a castor mound set, I decided to venture out and look for some runs. I think I found a decent one. I'll let the experienced tell me. It comes right off a dam. A ton of chewing back there. About 40 feet past the dam on the right side of the run they have it jammed up so they've been working back there in that path. (I included a picture of that but it's not too good). I put the set about 25 feet off the dam. Got a trail cam on it so maybe I'll get some live action. Throw me some tips and critiques.

Pic #1. Next time use all dead dried sticks. Beaver will sometimes swim up and eat your set sticks if they're fresh enough. especially the ones that they get half chewed that you used. Sets in the run like that with a dive stick work great. I'd have rolled the dive stick so there isn't a hump of air between it and the water. Keeps them from trying to swim over the trap. These are minor critiques. The set looks good. Looking forward to the next pic with a beaver in it

If you set a 330 in the run from the 2nd pic, you will catch. Its just a matter of time. Might want to put a few in that run and clean them out that much quicker.

Looks like a sweet spot.

Nothing wrong with your set other than I to would have rolled the dive stick hump down. But pic #2 looks like a killer spot. (pun intended)

Dead beaver coming up. Also, quick,,, get a trap under that laid over tree in the 2nd picture.

I appreciate all of the advice, as always. I’ll check the set after work and modify it as suggested. Hopefully post a picture of the flat tail.
