Bobcat tags in Wisconsin - 01/23/24 02:54 PM

Curious about drawing a tag in Wisconsin. I will have 2 points for this next season and was wondering if it would be possible to draw a late season tag with that or if I should just shoot for early season. Anyone else draw a cat tag recently and how many points did it take? Im in southern zone

I received a cat tag this year for the first season in the south zone. Took 3 years to get it.

Not from WI. But I bird hunt there a lot. Anyone that draws a tag for the North Western part, (north of Danbury west of Solon Springs) I can put you on some sign.

2023-2024 Bobcat points reported for a tag from the WDNR website.

Having the min. number of points (avg) in a zone and time period is NOT a guarantee of securing a tag for next year. That being said, my son got a tag the first year he applied w/o points for the southern zone, period 1 two years ago.

Note: for 2024-2025 season, the WDNR will be harvesting the lower jaws from period 2 tagged bobcats for research.
