Hey I have a marten question for you, I’m guessing you sell most of yours at auction? Do you leave feet on or off for that? Front legs tucked in? And your tails wire mesh like mink or pleat , pin straight?
Thanks

Yes I ship all my marten to auction.
No feet
front legs left inside when turned
For tails I will pin or use a piece of cardboard, not pleated but not pulled long either.

I do like Boco except I use wire mesh for the non pleated tail.

Do you guys split the front legs, how long do you leave them? Back legs on belly side or tail side? I was looking in the archives wilderness section, looks like there are several options. All the ones I have caught have gone to Moyles and I really have too many so going to start selling the next ones I catch. Thanks

I cut the front feet off at the wrist with wire cutters, dont split the legs.
I pin the back legs on the belly side of the board where they hang. The natural position.Dont pull the legs down to pin, that will thin out the fur in the flank where the grader runs his thumb and finger up the side of the skin to "weigh" it.Pulling the legs could turn a semi to a lt or a hvy to a semi-all substantial loss in value.
