Flagging fisher?? - 12/06/18 04:02 PM

Just wondering if any one uses flags for fisher sets. Trying some this season. Seems like ever time I sst on sign they go past my sets up wind from where they went through before. I cut up a black plastic garbage bag. Basically it looks like a little black ghost. See if they work!!

I use a skunky lure up high to draw them in. The best I found is Alaskan sable oil.

I was curious about flagging as well....

I took a break from trapping the last few years.

I haven't caught a Pennsylvania cat or Fisher yet. Now that I live closer to better habitat for them, I decided to Target them. I don't want fox or yotes plugging up my sets so I'm planning them to be pretty specific. Flagging...guiding.. probably exposed pans.

Didn't know if it would help or hurt to flag everything I set up. I don't wanna send the Fisher running away....

Knowing a little about their nature, I don't see it spooking them.

Probably going to use old CDs and Christmas tree tinsel near my sets. Unless someone has good evidence that it spooks Fisher.. ?

I have 3 different baits in solution. I have a few call lures...I have Tree Climber and Cat Collector. Figured I will change up the baits and call lures and alternate between tree climber and cat collector at the sets.

Planning to set 2-3 areas along the same ridge but about a mile apart. Don't have time to check more before work..and the areas are all a decent ways off the road and I have to hoof it in and out. Best plan I could come up with...just hope noone else has the same plan lol. Have some different habitats and set locations in mind.
