Tornadoes - 04/27/24 01:33 AM

Big outbreak here in Iowa today. Several very large long track tornadoes n western Iowa. Confirmed tornado just southwest of the Des Moines metro right now. No reports of deaths or injury yet, but I'm afraid of what will be reported tomorrow. Gonna be a lot of destruction for sure.
Omaha area got hit pretty hard too.

I’ve been watching them all afternoon . A big super outbreak today and potentially hitting the same areas tomorrow . Let’s pray that it doesn’t, they have been hit hard today in some areas.

Some amazing video from storm chasers today. One tornado in particular was on the ground for close to an hour and they said was a mile wide at times. I think it somehow missed any bigger towns.

Yes, all good here. Thank you.
The big storms went west of here. Got some rain but that's it, thankfully.

Good. Glad to hear it.

I spoke with my son, who lives in Osceola. He said it got rough down there for a while, but he didn't have any damage from the storm, at least at the time when we spoke.

Waverly is north Waterloo in eastern Iowa and away from the heavy weather from this evening. Looks like they got a good rain thru there, but a line of weather is working that direction.

Hard to see all that damage. Sounds like round II will start up today for roughly the same area. Prayers.

Saw on the news this morning showing where homes were completely demolished for a mile or so and another home on the edge only lost a couple pieces of siding. Sad situation. Prayers go out for all those involved.

Tornado damage can be very bizarre. Complete destruction on one side of the street and no to little damage on the other. Sometimes they lift and skip over blocks or buildings. Weird stuff.
